Last month’s earnings – November 2015

Monthly Earnings Nov 15

Every month I will list my online earnings from the past month to show that you don’t have to make a fortune to break free from the job paradigm and own your time, and to outline some various options for online income generation. All of the work I did could have been done in addition to working a full time job. I choose to live off less and enjoy the freedom, but you don’t have to be willing to live off of 1500 to 2500 a month for all of these techniques to be worthwhile. In fact, many of my more lucrative projects are the ones that involve the least ongoing time investment.

Keep in mind that some income sources might not directly involve the internet, but as they still further the cause of freedom I will include them.

Also keep in mind that I do my record keeping on a cash accounting method, so I only count the expenses and income for the month where they actually hit the account, not when the sale or purchase may have taken place. So for instance, the Youtube revenue was actually earned in October, but was deposited this month.

Here are my results from November 2015 with some brief explanations:

November 2015 Total: $1,665.81

Online Sales: $329.95
This includes eBay sales, Amazon sales, and Bookscouter. This is a net total after accounting for inventory purchases, shipping, listing fees, etc.

Amazon Affiliate Sales: $112.82
These are all sales made through affiliate links on my Youtube videos and websites. One of my best months yet for Amazon affiliate sales. Amazon sales tend to pick up as the holidays approach, and this is reflected in my affiliate sales revenue. This category is one of my favorites to report as it is probably the one I spend the least amount of effort on, and yet it is a consistent source of income, even if small.

Local Sales: $0
These are all sales that I met the buyer locally and did not ship the item. Nothing was sold in this category in November.

Adsense: $755.03
I count the income the month I actually get it, so these are actually my earnings from October. Most of this was from my two main Youtube channels, with $7.10 coming from Google ads on my websites. After 2 months of record-high earnings for me, it’s back down more in line with my average over the past year. I also have been slacking making videos, which I intend to increase. $ -162.76
This month was actually a great month of sales, over $250 worth. I just also made a large inventory purchase that did make the month negative, but should supply me for almost a year. So it was still a great month for Buythermite.

Credit Card Rewards: $74.77

Another great example of what is possible with even moderate effort applied to maximizing credit card reward dollars. At this point I don’t even do any of the serious credit card churning techniques like manufactured spending, etc. I simply select the best card out of my staple of 4 or 5 depending on which will give me the most cash back for whatever I am buying, and occasionally sign up for a new card if it gives a good sign-up bonus.

This month the rewards rewards are from normal day to day credit card use. I still can’t believe that there are intelligent, money-minded people who don’t use a rewards credit card system. With responsible card usage it is some of the easiest money you can make. Literally free money, since you don’t have to change your spending habits at all. You get money from the purchases you are going to make anyway. And it’s REAL money too – not a couple bucks a month. You are doing yourself a disservice if you disregard rewards credit cards.

Rent: $556.00

This is a combination of rent, utilities, and internet payment from my girlfriend. Having a roommate that allows you to split housing costs is a great way to more easily and quickly reach a point of independence from the job paradigm.

While not strictly internet income, I include this because it also just gives a more clear picture of my income and what I am working with.

Other Earnings: $0.00

There were no earnings this month that didn’t fit into another category.
